Day 086o: Flowing with the Fluss … (July 09, 2019)

There are many rivers through life alongside those made of water – there is the river of time (made up of myths & memories), the river of serendipity (built from omnipresent blessings & opportunities), the river of destiny (constructed from the consequences of all past choices), and the river peace (erected from all the moments we choose to Love Anyway). And yet all of these rivers have one thing in common: there is no pushing them to where they are not headed …

In a relativistic universe we can’t effectively cling to anything. We must learn to swim – or at least float purposefully – instead. And you know what that swimming (or purposeful floating) is – it’s a kind of relaxed attitude with the water around you; a kind of raw acceptance of all over which you truly have no control. At the same time, it is an intense recognition of the fact that we most certainly do have a say in the matter; that we most certainly are able to choose to remain in those water and flow with them smoothly downstream.” ~ inspired by Alan Watts
