Day 085r: The fickleness of Fear … (July 08, 2019)
Fear is a funny thing – fully debilitating when we are focusing on ourselves; fully empowering when faced boldly for others. It was this latter choice that I made on this soon-to-be-calamitous afternoon; a choice that had me harnessing the winds of fear instead of succumbing to the same; a choice that had me easily outpacing the coming violence – focusing on transcending my troubles in the solitude of the wilderness, that I might more potently serve others if later surrounded by society …

“Few will be graced with the greatness required to bend history itself, and yet each of us can work to alter or influence our own small portion of events. And indeed, it is more often from the numberless smaller acts of resolute courage that human history has been most potently shaped. For each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope for our species and our world. And these many smaller ripples, crossing and magnifying each other from a million different centers of intention and daring, all combine to build a massive current of justice & advancement; a current which will one day sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and fill the deepest troughs of despair.” ~ inspired by Robert Kennedy
