Day 081s: Solace before the Sleeping … (July 04, 2019)
True to form, I waited until everyone else had tucked themselves into bed before silently slipping downstairs to make my “bed” away from all others (again, primarily to spare them from the possibility – more & more the probability – that I would shock them awake with my snoring). And just as I was getting comfortable on the sitting room sofa and ready to drift off into slumberland, Helena entered the room and we had a most memorable chat – with her speaking long and emotionally about sensing the Greater Purpose to my Walk and me speaking just as deeply from my own heart about the powerful way she was serving humanity via the loving kindness with which she had obviously infused The Black Pearl. She then made me a small epsom-salt soak for my aching feet, gave me a warm hug, and wished me a good night’s rest …
“The most beautiful people we have known are often those who have known defeat and suffering and struggle and loss, and yet who have transcended; those who have known the greatest difficulty and yet who have chosen to send the greatest Love. These are the priceless few who have chosen to Higher Road, the ones who have thereby found their way out of the depths of tragedy & torment. These persons have a deeper appreciation, a more acute sensitivity, and a greater understanding of life that fills them with compassion and gentleness and a deep desire to give & serve. Beautiful people do not just happen. Beautiful people are the ones who have been tempted to turn ugly, and yet have chosen beauty anyway.” ~ inspired by Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross
“Nobody has ever measured, not even the greatest poets, how much the Heart can hold.” ~ via Zelda Fitzgerald
