Day 081h: Rebuilding Paradise … (July 04, 2019)

Perhaps the second most important thing we can ever bring to another person is the deeper silence within us; not the cold-hearted silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal, but rather the far more solid silence that provides a constant place of refuge, a permanent place of rest, a steadfast sanctuary of acceptance of the other as they already are. Most are hungry – desperate even – for this other more tender quiet. It is hard to find in our jagged world, and in its presence – when we have to heartful presence to offer the same – we can remind others of something beyond the harsh moment. We can remind them of a strength upon which a greater life can be constructed.” ~ via Rachel Naomi Remen
