Day 078e: Into the morning’s new Mists … (July 01, 2019)
There is an odd mix of cool temperatures and higher humidity as we pilgrims flow-amble our way up the Pyrenees into its cozy blanket of thick fog; easily feeling enveloped & at One with everyone & indeed everything around me. And, in one of the many times I was to be called to reflect back upon my first Camino experience of 2008, it soon became interestingly obvious to me that this particular stage was in fact far easier to walk than more than a few of those I had tread in Switzerland & France – and this, despite popular pilgrim rumors to the contrary …

“What we encounter, recognize or discover depends to a large degree on the quality of our approach. Many of the ancient cultures practiced careful rituals of imbuement. An encounter of depth and spirit was always preceded by careful preparation and accompanied by appropriate reverence. And whenever we approach with the latter, great things decide to approach us in return. Our real life comes to the surface and its light awakens the concealed beauty in all things. When we walk on the earth with reverence, beauty will decide to trust us and reveal herself more fully.” ~ via John O’Donohue
