Day 076f: Putting us properly in their Place … (June 29, 2019)
I wasn’t often directly confronted with the horrific injustices (imprisoning & enslaving the innocent) and abject cruelties (mutilation, infanticide, sexual assault, and murder)* of the globe-wide animal agriculture industry on this Walk, and yet my Soul was deeply crushed every time I did so …

“Our self-instilled self-importance as a species is based on a narrow set of human traits and we measure all other species against these. Our delusions of ‘ownership’ and the entitlement to destroy without conscience are grounded in a system of human-centered ‘laws’ that cast all our fellow creatures as our resources; a fabricated narrative where humans hold every single card and one else gets a say in the horrors to which we subject them. We are the worst of bullies; a gruesome and violent species leaving bloodshed and destruction in our wake while talking piously of ‘love’.” ~ via Linda Clark
*The cows pictured above, like all dairy cows the world over, were but children – essentially teenage girls who were destined to be repeatedly & forcibly impregnated by human hands, to just as repeatedly have their newborn babies stolen from them (with their baby girls being locked away to one day replace them on the milking line and their baby boys being murdered for “veal”), to be milked far beyond their bodies’ natural capacity (anything less would not be financially profitable for the farmer), and to finally – after their breasts ultimately & inevitably “dry up” from overuse – be ruthlessly murdered, that their corpses might then be made into dog-food &/or hamburger meat … 🙁
