Page 520 … Hiding behind the Bible

“I have not condemned them or anyone, I only speak the words of the Bible” … And to this I would simply state the obvious (as I have already done on numerous occasions beforehand) – that you most certainly have condemned homosexuals, Lucy; and that you most certainly do continue to do so!

You cannot hide your sins behind the Bible, my Friend, if for no other reason than A) that you are the one choosing to champion the Bible as your moral guidebook, and B) that you are the one choosing to disregard the humble, gentle teachings of Jesus therein and adopt the harsh, condemnatory words of the Old Testament & Paul instead … You are the one who has chosen to worship a God of condemnation, Lucy – a choice I have clearly shown that you as a Christian are not required to make.  As such, you most certainly are condemning homosexuals, my Friend, and laying the blame on the Bible or on God for that transgression simply will not do!

“Whoever does not Love does not know God, for God is Love … Beloved, since God Loved us so much, we also ought to Love one another.  No one has ever seen God; and yet if we Love one another, God lives in us, and his Love is perfected in us.  By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit … God is Love, and those who abide in Love abide in God, and God abides in them.  Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world.  There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love [see Matthew 5:48] casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment*, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in Love.” ~ unknown (1 John 4:8-18)

[*As such, “Fear not” (Jesus Christ) means “do not punish”, which also means “do not judge”!
