296/499 … re-dedicating The Way (10/18/08)

The “Cruz de Fero” (or the “Iron Cross”) — one of the more famous landmarks of the Camino. Here, pilgrims place a stone, preferably one that they have been carrying since the beginning of their Journey, to symbolize the letting go of an emotional or mental encumbrance from their past.

“I place my stone reverently at the pinnacle of this immense pile of detritus and somehow KNOW that I am free; that my life is once again re-dedicated to my true Purpose.” ~ from my Camino journal
